The women of Jamaica's 2012 Reggae Sumfest music festival

LADY SAW
Jamaica's biggest Reggae festival REGGAE SUMFEST celebrates it's 20th year this July 2012. The annual event held in Montego Bay Jamaica dubbed "the greatest reggae show on earth" draws fans from around the world who flock to the 7 day, 7 themed festival that showcases and celebrates the different cultural expressions of Reggae.

The show also caters to international acts and over the years have brought to the island some of the biggest names in the business from around the world, including some of the biggest international female artistes who have graced the stage like Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Toni Braxton, Mary J Blige, Destiny's Child, Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot, Fantasia, Rihanna, Ashanti, Jasmine Sullivan, Maya, Keyshia Cole and Keri Hilson.


The show also features Reggae female acts from Jamaica and around the world and have included Millie Small, Diana King, Marcia Griffiths, Queen Ifrika, Etana, Alaine Laughton, Cherine Anderson, Tessanne Chin, Tanya Stephens, CeCile, Tami Chynn, Lady Saw and others.

This years female artist for the festival includes 14 year Bahamian singer Angelique Sabrina, Raine Seville, Lady Saw, Tifa, Babay Tash, Spice, Sophia Brown, Tessanne Chin among others.

ReggaeWoman earthday blessings to Di Chick Althea Hewitt

Jamaican Reggae/Jazz singer Althea Hewitt aka Di Chick celebrates her earthstrong today. The 5'11 is a former member of the Jamaican girl group 4th Street Sister.

Presently singed to VP Records with a three album deal, her debut project "Introducing Althea Hewitt" was released August 2008.

Singles released off the album included "Love That A Woman Should Give To A Man, "Crime Scene" and "If I Were a Boy".

Her latest single "Do Rae Mi" is featured on the "Distinguished Divas" CD produced by the independent reggae label Phatta Trax. The 13 track CD also features other reggae women including Sylvia Tella, Irie Love, Tina Nunezz, Lovely and Angel.
